Connect deal email intake
Forward broker opportunities into Bridgewerks and verify the intake workflow.
Updated July 22, 2026
Choose the intake mailbox
Select one shared mailbox or alias that consistently receives new broker opportunities. Most companies use an address such as deals@yourcompany.com or an existing originations inbox.
Name a business owner for intake policy and an IT owner for mailbox configuration. Decide which messages should create or update a deal and which messages should remain outside Bridgewerks.
Set up forwarding
Your Bridgewerks implementation lead will provide a deployment-specific inbound address and a secure configuration process. The customer mailbox administrator creates the forwarding rule from the approved intake mailbox to that address.
Keep the first rule narrow. Forward only the messages intended for deal intake, and avoid broad rules that could capture unrelated company mail.
Test the workflow
Send non-sensitive samples that represent normal intake:
- A simple opportunity with property and borrower details in the message body.
- A forwarded broker thread.
- A message with a small PDF or spreadsheet attachment.
- A larger message near the size your team commonly receives.
For each sample, confirm that Bridgewerks receives the message, preserves the important sender and subject context, creates the expected intake record, and makes supported attachments available for review. Record any exception before enabling the broader forwarding rule.
When deeper Microsoft access is needed
Standard forwarding is the default intake path. Some customers may also need Microsoft Graph for approved Outlook or OneDrive workflows, richer thread context, or shared-mailbox operations.
That option requires a separate Microsoft Entra application, administrator consent, least-privilege permissions, a named credential owner, and a rotation plan. Your implementation lead will scope it separately; it is not required for ordinary forwarding-based intake.
