Set up credit boxes
Capture lending criteria and compare a deal with available capital.
Updated July 22, 2026
Understand a credit box
A credit box describes the kinds of loans a source of capital is prepared to fund. It can include property types, markets, loan sizes, leverage limits, pricing, term, and other eligibility rules.
Bridgewerks supports internal lending criteria and, when configured, criteria for outside capital partners. Keeping these terms structured makes it easier to compare an opportunity with available capital.
Create or update a credit box
Open Credit Boxes, then create a new profile or select an existing one. Use a clear name that teammates will recognize. Complete the profile and terms with the current approved criteria.
When terms change, create a new version when the workspace offers versioning instead of overwriting the history that supported an earlier decision.
Apply it to a deal
Use the relevant credit box during underwriting to test basic fit and identify exceptions. A match is decision support, not an automatic approval. The underwriting team still needs to validate the deal, the source documents, and any conditions that are not represented by a structured rule.
Keep criteria reliable
Assign an owner for each credit box and review it when a lending program or capital relationship changes. Include the effective date in supporting notes or documents, and retire criteria that should no longer guide new decisions.
