Service and monitor loans
Board closed loans and stay ahead of portfolio events.
Updated July 22, 2026
Board a closed loan
Move a deal into servicing after closing so the portfolio record starts with the final approved terms. Confirm the borrower, original balance, rate structure, maturity, payment dates, and other critical dates against the executed documents.
Do not use provisional underwriting terms as the servicing record when closing terms changed.
Maintain the loan record
Use Servicing for the events that change a loan over time, including payments, draws, extensions, rate changes, and other activity supported by your workspace. Record events promptly so balances and dates remain useful to the whole team.
For floating-rate loans, verify the applicable rate inputs and effective date before relying on a calculated payment.
Monitor the portfolio
Monitoring brings forward conditions that may require attention, such as approaching maturities, reserve runway, coverage movement, or portfolio concentration. Open the underlying loan before acting; the monitoring view is a signal, while the loan record contains the supporting detail.
Establish a review rhythm
- Review new and overdue alerts.
- Confirm the source data behind each alert.
- Assign follow-up work in Tasks.
- Record the decision or borrower communication on the loan.
- Resolve the alert only after the underlying issue is addressed.
